Ok guys, here is the thing: I am OBSESSED with avocado toast. I eat it every day, and, if I don't eat it then I feel like I've had a bad day. To be totally honest, sometimes it is the only thing that gets me through the day. The biggest downside to avocado toast is that avocados are frickin expensive. Im spending roughly $8-$10 a week on this habit! I never wanted to like avocado toast. In fact, I was vehemently against it for awhile because I was convinced it was just one of those instagram fads and I did not want anything to do with it. But then, one day I decided to give in and try it and I have never looked back. It truly was life changing.
So, as an every day avocado toast eater, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on the topic. And, I know this is bold, but I think I have found the PERFECT way to eat it. It's phenomenal if I do say so myself. And, because it is so good I feel as though it should be shared with the world. So, here it is, the world's best avocado toast:
Ingredients:
- 1 avocado (ripe)
- garlic powder
- salt
-red pepper flakes
- hot sauce
- two pieces of bread
Optional:
- 2 eggs
Directions:
- Cut the avocado in half and take out the pit
- Scoop out the avocado and put into a bowl
- Mush the avocado to desired consistency. I prefer mine mostly smooth so I mush it a lot, but it's all personal preference
- Add just a pinch of salt to the bowl
- Add as much garlic powder as you want
- Add as many red pepper flakes as you want
- Mix until everything is equally distributed
- Pop the two pieces of bread into the toaster
- Spread the avocado mixture onto the toast once its toasted as much as you like
- Put some hot sauce on top. I use a lot because I'm a big fan of hot sauce. My personal preference is Frank's Redhot but you can use whatever you like
- Optional: fry two eggs and add them on top for some protein. I think eggs are gross so I never do this but I see a lot of people do it so I'm sure it's kinda good.
- ENJOY!
There you go, that's how it's done. It is super easy, and I think that is kind of the point. But, the cool, creamy texture of the avocados mixed with the warm crunchy bread is unreal. I cannot see myself cutting this out of my life anytime in the near future. It's ok, I can be the good kind of fat, just like my avocados!
