Current Obsessions

If you don't know me, I have a very obsessive personality. Once I find something that I like I stick to it until I can't stand it anymore, which can take years. So, here is a list of all of my current obsessions. We have food, drinks, supplements, beauty and clothes!
Avocado Toast

If you read my others posts you already know that I am obsessed with avocado toast. I eat it every. single. day. without fail. I ran out of avocados the other day and it was horrible. I felt like I was forgetting something all day and it drove me nuts. If you haven't tried avocado toast yet, then you need to. Or, if you are looking for a new recipe then you should try this one. It is pretty fantastic if I do say so myself!
Teriyaki Chicken

I found this chicken at SAMs club and now I cannot get enough. It is fully cooked already so I can just throw it into the microwave and in a matter of minutes have a wonderfully flavored chicken breast. It has been key to me getting my protein intake up because I am lazy and also super busy so I don't have time to cook as much as I what like to. It also makes a great dinner if you cook up some brown minute rice and a steam-able bag of veggies!
Protein Bars

I have been on the lookout for protein bars recently. Because I am allergic to peanuts it can be hard to find protein bars that taste good, have a lot of protein and are not just full of carbs. And, I am happy to report that I have finally found one that I love and that I am obsessed with! This protein bar tastes just like a fudge brownie and it cures my cravings without me giving in to a chocolate frosty or Portillo's chocolate cake. All around a better choice for my healthy lifestyle that I am living.
Pre-Workout

I am a caffeine addict. If I do not get enough in one day then I get a headache. I have tried to cut back and I just can't do it. I also struggle to drag myself to the gym on most days. Usually I am sore from previous workouts, I'm tired from not sleeping enough, and I have so much work to do for school that it is hard to find time. But this pre-workout has solved all of those problems! It has caffeine so I can get my daily dose of that, but it does not have the things in other pre-workouts that make my skin itch all over. That is one of my least favorite things about pre-workout because then that is all I can focus on, but this one does not do that! It also tastes really good which is an added benefit!
Iced Coffee

With my caffeine addition comes a tendency to take my coffee really seriously. And, I have found that it does not matter what season it is, I will order an iced coffee. I am not sure what it is about iced coffee but I just freakin love it! There is a Starbucks on campus so that is usually where I get my coffee from. Probably 3 times a week you can find me walking around with a Venti vanilla iced coffee with soy milk, or recently the coconut milk. Over the summer, I stopped and got one every day on my way to work. I was not kidding when I said I had an addictive and obsessive personality!
Melatonin

I have a lot of trouble sleeping. Especially if I am stressed, which tends to happen in college. My biggest problem is that I can't fall asleep. Once I'm asleep, I can pretty much stay that way. I have found that taking melatonin has really helped me with this problem. I use the liquid melatonin because I think it works better, but there are all kinds of options. The best part about melatonin is that it is non-addictive because it just stimulates your body's natural sleep cycle. There are a few downsides to this. (1) it tastes like medicine. I think it is cherry flavored, which I hate but not everyone does. (2) you will have some super weird, vivid dreams. I never remembered my dreams before taking this and now I remember them almost every day. But, if you're having a problem sleeping, this might be a good thing to try.
Probiotics

This is probably getting way too personal, but I strive for transparency so here we go: I have a lot of digestive problems. I have my whole life, but if I am stressed or upset or eat something I am not used to it can bother me for days. One of friends has been taking probiotics daily since I have known her and she loved them so I decided to give them a try. And, I have to say, I really like them. I think they have helped a lot with the bloating I have on my stomach (it's a huge problem area for me) and I haven't noticed any downsides. As far as I know, probiotics are not harmful in any way, but I am not a medical expert so don't hold me accountable for that and maybe talk to a doctor, it can't hurt.
Lotion

I have seriously dry skin, probably due to my super hot showers and tendency to forget to drink water. So, if I can find a lotion that helps with this, I am all about it. I found this lotion at SAMs club and I LOVE it! It smells like coconuts and the beach which is key in the long winter months. It also goes on really well and I never feel like it's sticky or not absorbing into my skin. I put in on right after the shower and I am good to go. I also use it on my face, I know you aren't supposed to do that but in this case, it really cleared up my skin and has made it super soft. If you have oily skin this might not be for you since it is an oil based lotion, but for all my fellow dry-skin people, this stuff is amazing.
Cropped Hoodies

I do not know what has happened to me recently, it's like I'm a whole new person. For my whole life I have been very anti cropped clothing. Especially sweatshirts and sweaters. Because in my mind if you're trying to stay warm why are you wearing a cropped sweater? But, with my recent venture into the gym and living a healthy lifestyle I have discovered a love for cropped hoodies. They are perfect for the gym! With a nice pair of high waisted leggings, oh man it looks so good. They also make fantastic athleisure wear, which is basically my aesthetic and I have nothing other than that to wear because all I own is athleisure. I throw on a pair of leggings, a cropped hoodie, and a leather jacket and I am good to go! In fact, I think that is all I have worn to class all week...
Well, there you go. Those are all of (or most of) my current obsessions. These are the things that are in my life daily and I really can't get enough of. I would highly recommend all of these products, so give them a try and let me know what you think!
